College is quite hard to undertake. It requires a lot of efforts and hard work to obtain high grades. But, there are also simple ways to be an exceptional EXCELLENT STUDENT!
Just simply follow this series of steps and make sure you apply this for real. And I assure you that there will be a change on how you perceive life.
1.) Be TIME- CONSCIOUS!!
Most of the students in college were dropped out not because of mere absences but also with consistent tardiness. Yes! Teachers consider tardiness as an absence if it reaches the maximum counts. If you are truly showing concern for your studies, always be early and never be absent. I come to our university about 15- 25 minutes before my first period class commences. This is one way to assure that I will never be late and can start the class from the start.Others say that " Being late is better than absent." Try to junk this quote for this would not benefit you at all. Why would you come late if you can come early? Why would you be absent if you can be present? Aside from tardiness, time-consciousness means time awareness too when it comes to dues of projects and assignments. Once it is the deadline, make sure you are ready to pass your projects and requirements. Don't tolerate " later habit". Make sure you are ahead of time. Never be late for you won';t know the probable consequences of being late.
2.) BE A BOOKSTORE!
Yes. A bookstore is a store for educational supplies right? My classmates often call me a "bookstore" because I got all the stuffs needed by a student. These include, stapler, scotch tape, pencil, eraser, pens, sharpener, correction tapes and calculator. Once my classmate says, " hey can I borrow your stapler?" I am always happy to lend it but they should assure proper usage. Being a bookstore will help you do your task as a student easily. You won't rush on buying things while you have it already at home. You won't cram borrowing things from your mates and be called a "parasite". And most of all, you don't have to worry to do things all by yourself because you have all the things you need and no need for you to ask someone's help.
3.) LISTEN! PAY ATTENTION! JOT DOWN!
These are the basic tasks of a real student. First, you should be obliged to listen carefully to your teacher. Avoid chatting with seat mates and never allow temptation overrule yourself. Just concentrate on what the teacher tackles about. Have an eye-to-eye discussion with the teacher and never be distracted with your noisy mates. Second, you should pay attention! This is imperative and you should do this. Pay attention to your professor even if the ambiance of the class seemed to be full of clamors. Listen to your professor if he/she is giving instructions.Lastly, jot down. I usually do this especially when the lesson discussed is quite hard. I spare time to jot down the gist and the salient points uttered by my professor.
4.) MAKE YOUR OWN TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS
This might sound silly but this works. For me, I create my own Transcript of Records or class card through Microsoft. I make it look like the typical transcript to be requested on the Registrar after graduation. I insert the school logo too to make it real. And what's more motivating is when you right down your desired grades for every subjects. This is one of the secret why I frequently get 1.00 on most of my subjects. I look to it before I go to school and think of it most of the time. The grades written on it should be your target grades. On this way, you are motivated to reach those target grades and strive hard to accomplish too. I also compute my general average. Through these ways, I know I can maintain my very high grades in every subjects. And this is also a useful tip to those students who aspire for Graduation Honors.
5.)SLEEP.
Take time to relax. Being intelligent does not require to be bookish. You don't have to indulge yourself to a pile of thick books and read them page by page. This won't make you brilliant. Rather it will make you crazy!!
You should have at least 7 hours of sleep. But you should also observe waking up time. I consider 4: 45 A.M to be my waking up time regardless of the activities I have to do. Through this power sleep, you can concentrate on class and maintain good focus when the class is still going on. Aside from this, sleeping will make your mind lighter and more functional.
6.) DREAM!
I hope these steps will help you especially those students who aspire for Graduation Honors. Good luck college students!!

6.) DREAM!
Dreaming won't just literally mean dreaming while sleeping. It means goal-setting. You should set-up your own goal in life. For an instance, I have a goal to maintain my ideal grade inside the university. And this is 1.5. I also aim of maintaining my slot in the Dean's List every semester. And this should always be on the Highest Honors. And every semester, I really wait for the Dean's List post on the bulletin board and expects that I should still be on the highest honors. Dreaming doesn't mean over ambitious. It will pep you and will motivate you to struggle on the unpredictable race of schooling. It won't make you a desperate one rather it will make you a motivated being. I believe that when I aspire, I really aspire for the best and not for the least. Even if other people say that it's painful not to reach you expectations. But, it's more painful not to act upon on your most desired dreams in life.
I hope these steps will help you especially those students who aspire for Graduation Honors. Good luck college students!!
